Praying for God's Grace and Mercy

My step Dad, Jim, is very ill. He was admitted today at U of M hospital in Ann Arbor. He has a rare form of cancer, soft tissue sarcoma. He has lived with it for two years. When it was first diagnosed they treated him with chemo and radiation. The treatments were intense. Then he had surgery to remove tissue in his abdominal wall. A year later he had a second surgery to remove more tissue and to full in his side with a mesh to fill out is tummy. Now the cancer back. He has a mass about the size of a grapefruit in his bowels. In very rare cases, these tumors develop in the gastrointestinal tract. A small percentage of these are GISTs. Malignant GISTs occur most commonly in the stomach and small intestine. He has had his lifetime amount of chemo and radiation. He is too weak for surgery. He went from a healthy 165# man to a very sick less than 120# man. At this point all we can do is pray. I do believe in miracles. I'm praying he will heal. But, this is all out of my control. I have to put it in God's hands and he will do the right thing. I pray for comfort for my Dad. I want him to know he is loved and revered.
Very sad at this time.

So Pretty

By Ninasu from Michigan on 8/5/2011

4out of 5

Sizing: Feels half size too big

Pros: Attractive Design, Easy To Put On, Fun, Easy To Take Off, Comfortable

Cons: Too big under the arms

Best Uses: Any Night

Describe Yourself: Adventurous

Was this a gift?: No

All plus size women do not have a big bust..! This would fit perfectly if I take it in about 2" on each side under the arms. Since I got a great deal on it and I love the cute colors and the style, I will just sew a dart under the arm holes.
If you are large busted this will fit you perfectly.

I was skeptical about buying these. I wasn't sure how a band around my calf would look. Surprisingly they look and feel great. I've gotten many compliments on them. Comfortable and cute is a winner to me. I think you will like them.

Bermuda Leggings?

By Ninasu from Michigan on 7/20/2011

2out of 5

Waist: Feels too big

Length: Feels too short

Pros: Wrinkle-Free, Washes Well

Cons: Poor Fit, too short

Best Uses: housework

Describe Yourself: Casual Dresser

Was this a gift?: No

These Capri's have a weird fit. They are loose at the waist and tight at the knee and look more like leggings that have been cut off and hemmed at the knee. Most of my Capri pants have the length between then knee and the ankle, these are more like Bermuda short length. I didn't pay much for them so I won't send them back and end up paying more for shipping than I did for the shorts, but I won't recommend these.

Not for me

By Ninasu from Michigan on 7/14/2011

Waist: Feels too small

Length: Feels too long

Cons: Poor Quality, Not True to Size, Irregular Fit

Describe Yourself: Casual Dresser

These felt stiff and tight. I like comfort. These weren't for me. I sent them back because it says drawstring waist and it has a tie that comes from the side and ties at the front, NOT a drawstring waist.

Waist: Feels true to size

Length: Feels too long

Cons: Poor Quality, Uncomfortable

Describe Yourself: Casual Dresser

Was this a gift?: No

I bought this dress to lounge around in the house. I liked the style in the photo, but it's very long on me and not a comfy fit. As I was checking out the fabric, which is very stiff and starched, when I noticed the seam on the right side of the dress had not been sewn properly. It looked like the machine had skipped a couple of places and then there were places where the thread was all bunched up. Very poor quality. I sent it back. I bought it on sale and wasn't expecting much, but this was very disappointing.

Pros: Great Color, Figure Flattering

Cons: Wrinkles Easily

If you want to be comfy this summer while you are on vacation, this is the one to go with. It's 100% cotton making it a very cool shirt, but that also means it will wrinkle. It's a thin fabric. I love the colors and the feel of this piece. I feel it's a good choice.

Describe Yourself: Casual Dresser

Being a retired woman, I thought it would be nice to pop on this dress to do house chores and sit on the porch. The fabric is starched stiff. I didn't wash it because I checked out the side seam and saw that it wasn't sewn in two spots and where it was sewn it was all messed up thread. I put it back into the bag and sent it back. I bought it on sale and it will probably cost as much as I paid to send it back, but I have no use for a dress that isn't constructed properly. BEWARE if you buy this.

I love this shirt. The fabric is cool and thin. The only thing wrong with it that I can find, is the quality of the hem. The top I received has a pucker in the front of the hem. I hate returns, so I kept it and wear it around the house. It's very comfy and cool on these hot summer days.

This dress is very comfortable to wear. I originally bought it to wear around the house. When it arrived, I realized it is a nicer dress than I thought. I was expecting it to be more cotton type fabric and it's not. It has a silky feel to it and I love the layers of ruffles. It's a pretty summer color and easy to wear to church or out to dinner.

Hospitals Suck

Last month I spent 8 days in the hospital. I had to call 911 because of stomach pain. I was diagnosed with a bowel obstruction. It was horribly painful. This is how it happened.
I knew I had a hernia in my abdominal wall, but it wasn't hurting and I hate having surgery. I let the hernia go for over a year. The hernia grew larger, but I was unaware of that. I could tell my tummy looked larger on one side but attributed the enlargement to gaining some weight.
My husband and I were watching tv on a quiet March evening. I had a small coughing fit and felt something "pop" in my tummy. I immediately started having pain. I thought if I lay down it will go away. I rolled around on my bed moaning in pain, before I gave in and said I need to go to the ER.
The pain increased as I rode in the ambulance. I am glad I called 911, because I was able to get my IV started and the hospital was ready for me when I got there.
I was told about the way my intestines had pinched off or folded to block the bowel after they had taken a ct scan of my stomach. There is a procedure they can do where a nose tube is put into the stomach to make the bowel un-pinch or unfold. I had to have this done 4 times. I was awake each time. It's horrible. They shove a plastic tube into your nostril and shove it down your throat into your stomach. :::shudders:::
After a few days of this the doctors decided I needed emergency surgery to repair a hernia that was the size of a basket ball. My intestines are literally on the outside of my stomach wall. I was taken to surgery and put into the waiting area. This made me very nervous. When they finally came to take me to surgery I refused to go. I was just a wreck. I was taken back to my room. The nose tube was back in place and then I had to wait. I think the doctors thought I was going to die. But after 6 days I started to produce some gas. The procedure did work. My bowels were working again. After another couple of days they released me. I am doing okay now. They would like me to have the hernia repaired but I'm not so sure I will be able to survive the recovery.
This has been a long story and I could explain why I don't want surgery, but for now I'm going to stop.....
Talk to you soon.

I bought these for my Mother. She has diabetes and needs a soft shoe, due to neuropathy and morton's neuroma. Finding shoes that are soft and yet durable enough to wear outdoors has been a task. I am so happy to have found these for her. She says she feels like a teenager again wearing her moccasins. I'm very pleased with the product. Thank you Moccasins.com and Minnetonka.
